If a teacher has recommended support for your child, or you’re wondering how sessions with Dr Serahni work at Durbanville Preparatory School, you’re in the right place. This page will answer your most common questions and guide you through the next steps.
How the Process Works:
Step 1: Parent Intake Session
The process starts with a 60-minute intake session for parents or guardians only (children should not attend).
These sessions are available in person or via Zoom.
You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns, ask questions, and provide background information.
Step 2: Your Child’s Sessions
Your child will attend four 30-minute sessions during school hours, on Tuesdays or Fridays.
Dr Serahni will collect your child from class at the scheduled time in coordination with the teacher.
After these sessions, a parent feedback session will be scheduled (also 60 minutes, in person or via Zoom).

Availability & Waiting List
Registering your child does not guarantee immediate placement – you may be added to a waiting list if sessions are currently full. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Please note: Only a limited number of learners can be accommodated at a time.
Billing & Communication
Invoices are sent within 24 hours of each session.
A R100 discount is applied for payments made on the same day the invoice is received.
Dr Serahni is a registered counsellor, but not contracted to medical aids. This is a cash practice with private rates, so sessions aren’t automatically covered. You’re welcome to submit the invoice to your medical aid for possible reimbursement – just be sure to settle the invoice first.
Feedback is provided via WhatsApp within 24 hours of your child’s session. Dr Serahni will send a voice note or message as soon as her schedule allows.
